Residential Treatment
Comprehensive care for the children who need it most
The 145-acre Buckeye Ranch Grove City campus offers secured residential treatment for the most urgent cases. For a child with serious behavioral issues, a temporary, secured residential program may be required. The Intensive Care Residential Program, a 24-hour treatment program for boys and girls ages 10-18, offers the expert care and structure required. The Ranch also offers an Open Campus Program, a less-secured residential program designed to help children transition smoothly back into the community.
The Ranch's residential programs include the following treatment options for children and families:
- Intensive and non-intensive residential care
- Behavior disorder services
- Services for the Deaf & Hard-of-hearing
- Family counseling
- Case management
- Alternative education
- Juvenile sex offender services
- Traditional therapies such as art therapy, as well as nontraditional therapies like animal-assisted therapy, play therapy, music therapy and horticulture therapy
There is a constant waiting list for secured residential treatment services.
Over the past few years, the Ranch has seen a shift in community needs. The demand for unsecured residential treatment has decreased in preference to community-based alternatives such as the Cross Creek Day Treatment. At the same time, the need for secured treatment for youth who are a danger to themselves or to others continues to be in great demand.
To meet the increased need for secured services, The Buckeye Ranch has begun converting part of its unsecured residential treatment facilities into secured spaces. This response to urgent community needs has resulted in the Ranch's ability to serve an additional 60 youth per year. We anticipate that the need for more secured care will increase in the future.
Most of the buildings and roads on the Grove City campus, constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, are also in need of repairs, renovations and updates. In normal circumstances, the age of the buildings alone indicates a need for remodeling and upgrades. At the Ranch, where residential and multi-purpose facilities are in constant use by clients of different ages suffering from the most severe emotional and behavioral issues, the need is even greater. Part of the funds raised during the capital campaign will be used to offset repairs, maintenance, expansions and renovations for the Grove City Campus.
Please help us to make it a reality. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference — donate now.
