The Buckeye Ranch Launches Learn, Care, Give Campaign

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Oct. 29, 2008) - The Buckeye Ranch, a national leader in the treatment of emotionally, mentally and behaviorally disturbed children and youth, is conducting its first major community-wide capital campaign with a goal of $7.5 million over three years. A successful effort will enable The Buckeye Ranch to purchase and refurbish the new Family Center on West Broad Street and allow for renovations and technology upgrades on the Grove City campus.

In just five years, the number of children in The Buckeye Ranch care has grown from 1,200 daily in 2003 to 2,000 each day in 2008. Rick Rieser, The Buckeye Ranch president and chief executive officer, said local indicators predict that the number of children and their families who will need help in the future will increase as much as 35 percent.

"The Ranch plans to continue to be the answer for these children and their families and we are making plans to be ready to meet the ever increasing need for care," said Rieser.

For 50 years, The Buckeye Ranch has enjoyed tremendous success in restoring hope and healing to thousands of children and their families. Campaign donations will help The Buckeye Ranch continue the highest quality treatments programs to care for children struggling to overcome abuse, neglect, mental illness, suicidal tendencies, addictions and behavior disorders.
